analytical approach

process

Development Ratings researches a large number of charities before producing brief reports on the ones that we recommend. All research reports are discussed with the organisations being analysed and final recommendations are screened by an independent research advisory committee.

methodology

Development Ratings’ analytical process is based on gaining a fundamental understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the charity’s operations, exactly what development goals it sets itself and an assessment of how able it has been and will be in delivering a development impact.

Development impact is highly dependent on a number of factors including the environment in which the organisation is working, whether the methods it uses are new and unproven or tried and tested, and its ‘age’ and track record.

The recommended charities are 'best-of-the-breed' organisations that make substantial difference in the challenging environment they operate in.
