Risks
Mental illness may be unappealing to some donors. Addressing either mental or physical disability may seem of lesser priority than the overwhelming issues surrounding ‘mainstream’ poverty. The inclusion of disabled people in developing countries into poverty reduction strategies is essential.
BasicNeeds looked financially fairly fragile in 2007. The position has been strengthened in 2008.
